Snack21® was created when experience met personal need. Its founder had spent years building a respected seafood export business when his own dog developed a food allergy. Faced with limited treat options that were both simple and trustworthy, inspiration struck: why not create a pet treat using only real fish, preserved naturally by drying?

That simple idea became Snack21® — a line of wholesome treats made with care for our own pets, and now proudly shared with yours.

A Legacy of Innovation Since 1996

Snack21® first launched in the summer of 1996 with its original Salmon Snacks for cats and dogs. From the beginning, it was clear this was something special. Pet owners and retailers quickly embraced the product, encouraging the brand to grow.

Over the years, Snack21® expanded its lineup in response to customer demand and pet preferences:

• Herring Steaks for cats and Herring Strips for dogs

• Pacific Whiting treats for cats and dogs

• Salmon Fillets for large dogs, created for pets who needed a bigger, heartier reward

• Salmon Skin Rolls, a 100% natural chew and healthy alternative to rawhide

In 2006, Snack21® introduced its first food topper, Salmon Flakes for Cats and Dogs, allowing pet parents to sprinkle the nutritional benefits of wild Pacific salmon directly onto meals — a simple upgrade pets instantly love.
